Strange though this may seem to most people, "Keep Portland Weird", is the city motto. It's a huge local business/website dedicated to that theme. At various times throughout the year, one can find various, and unique, festivals. The few I am aware of are Santa Claus, Anime, Zombie Pub Crawl etc. etc. If you ever visit Portland, be prepared to see some fantastically unique things that make Portland what it is.
One of those unique things is VooDoo donuts. It's a little hole-in-the-wall shop that makes some pretty amazing donuts. The one they are most famous for: Maple Bar with bacon strips. . . and yes, it is amazing!
This soda is made in Portland by a company with the name 'Hot Lips'. This particular soda is boysenberry. We also had pear and both we fantastic. Portland truly is a melting pot of cultures and people. And you never know what fun is in store when you visit downtown.
